Nokia says 'no' to RIM client for E71
Nokia said that it is not considering a Research In Motion BlackBerry email client for its top-of-the-line E71 smartphone, according to a report in Unstrung. Nokia shot down the idea, despite the fact that it runs a RIM client on many of its other phones.
"We don't have any current plans to have a Blackberry client on the E71," said a Nokia spokesman. "We can't say it's never going to happen, but there aren't any plans now."
For its part, RIM said it would continue to work with smartphone manufacturers, including Nokia, to bring the BlackBerry Connect client to smartphones.

No rim bb connect.?? What is the problem with these clowns? We cannot live without. is this phone in the US yet?
well, that's kind of a minor pity, since the E71 is a phenomenal phone. Anyway, I'm using Mail for Exchange on it and its pretty slick as is. I guess overall its such a strong package that most will opt for it anyway.
Living without bb connect is like living
in 1981. boohoo. I never use a desktop
or those products, whatever they are.
My motto: if i cant do it on my phone,
i don't want to do it.
Actually they are deliberately blocking it, they are looking for the BB daemon and killing it, and they have a blacklist in the software installer to stop it installing. Surely that's antitrust violation?
Actually Nokia has recommended a Blackberry client for E61 and E61i both of which run Symbian S60 3rd just as E71 does. Whoever wants to run this client can just go and get it from Nokia E61/E61i download site, install it on E71. It will work.
Downs... did you in fact verified that working...
Which version of FW was on E71, which version of
BBC ?
thank you,
Why can't nokia understand. For hving BBC, they are in fact snatching marketshare away from BB. There's nothing to loose.
Com'on - give us BBC for E71!
