Report: Is Zer01 Mobile too good to be true?

Tools

The offer that MVNE Zer01 Mobile is peddling may be too good to be true, according to a Network World article that raises a number of questions about the company's business practices and technology offering.

Earlier this month Zer01 Mobile said it would launch a mobile virtual network enabler service that could support unlimited wireless voice and data service via mobile VoIP technology running over an unnamed carrier's GSM network. At the time, the company said it expected to begin signing up a number of distributors for its service, and those resellers would then retail the offering to end users.

However, the Network World article questions many of the company's claims, and highlights the convoluted nature of its business setup. According to the article, neither AT&T Mobility or T-Mobile USA (the two nationwide U.S. GSM carriers) have a relationship with the company.

Buzzirk Mobile appears to be the primary distributor for the service. The firm is owned by Global Verge, and the CEO of that company is on probation after pleading guilty to securities fraud. He was not available to comment, according to the Network World article. Further, according to Zer01 CEO Ben Pillani, Global Verge has signed up 50,000 associates to sell the company's wireless service, although that number was difficult to confirm. The article also said that sales associates pay $70 become part of the program and $40 a month for back-office support.

This company is so scammy and so full of impossibilities that even Zebra GSM sounds like a great deal compared to these guys. Why is this industry plagued by fraud?

Who in this world had ever heard of Verizon or T-Mobile 20 years ago? With so little start up cost, why you even care if it was a scam? It looks like the real deal to me!

Pessimism will always keep heads buried in the sand. Do you think that maybe the world as we know it could possibly be reshaped by our collective knowledge that is changing on a daily basis, exponentially? Who knew what Walt Disney was up to when his various separate little corporations bought up parcels of cheap land in central Florida to eventually form one big parcel big enough for a mouse (and all his friends!)

I am actually an Independent Distributor, and have been for a couple months now. I have seen the phones, and the beta sim cards. This is the real deal, and will be ready for public use towards the end of next month.ACN reps are jumping on these posts and tearing apart Buzzirk... But you dont see us doing that to them. We know we have the superior technology, and the rest are going to be left behind. We are bringing in 1000s of new reps daily. Top reps were paid over 5k in bonuses last month without even touching a phone. Contact me if you are interested in becoming a REP. rzambory@gmail

Get your facts straight, the CEO is NOT Mark Petschel, and he is not on probation! He wasnt even convicted... This is a horrible article.

"Who in this world had ever heard of Verizon or T-Mobile 20 years ago? With so little start up cost, why you even care if it was a scam? It looks like the real deal to me!"

"Top reps were paid over 5k in bonuses last month without even touching a phone."

Well, with that kind of logic how can we go wrong? Where do we sign up? I love a good pyramid scheme as much as the next guy!

Totally a SCAM!!! The writers facts are straight and verifiable through public records while the company' "to date" can not back up its statements or claims! Something is differently wrong.

Everyone in the USA is looking for a way to have a piece of the american dream.I spent $74.80 to buy into this.I have spent more then that on a Saturday night & had not a thing to show for it.Now if any of you want to become financially secure drop me an email and I will show you what got me interested in this great company. There will always be people who are negative.Forget them they are going no were.

First of all, I just received an email stating that this company has the first 5G technology. I did not know that IEEE is working on 5G. They used the term that the phone is compatible with WiMax. Then why is not Clear selling this phone in Portland, OR, Atlanta, GA and Las Vegas, NV to their customers? I have seen that they own the 2.2 Ghz spectrum. What a bunch of bull. They show the AT&T coverage map in their advertisement, yet they do not have a relationship with AT&T. They advertise an HTC phone and their head honcho is on probation for securities fraud. Finally, they have selected multi-level marketing to distribute their product.

I smell a very stinky rat here. Companies and people like this are very bad for our industry and need to be brought to justice as soon as possible. If this person indeed has 50,000 distributor's money and is not distributing product, he is either running a Ponzi scheme, pyramid scheme or he has his passport and plane tickets ready for a quick exit...if he has not done so already.

Buyer beware!!!

You just said it..."Top reps were paid over 5k in bonuses last month without even touching a phone."

My friend, that is a Ponzi Scheme...using new money to pay old investors. That fact alone that they are using MLM money to compensate people who do not even have a product IS a pyramid scheme and will eventually be called a Ponzi Scheme. In case you do not realize it, Sparky, what you just represented in your statement is HIGHLY ILLEGAL if they are indeed doing this!!!

There will certainly be an implosion and the powers that be in this company will be far off of the American shores well before the s... hits the fan. The underlings will be left here to take the blame and the suckers who put their money into this will be left holding a worthless piece of paper.

I am in this industry and there is no way this product exists. Furthermore, I live in one of their cities and I found a locked corporate office today with nobody home. Also, the office was not too impressive and the other offices at that address were mostly abandoned.

Wake up people you have been had!

Global Verge have existing products that people are buying. Identity theft protection online mall savings program and travel. That is how they made commissions already. Buzzirk Mobile is GV's brand. Zer01 is the service provider Ben Piilani gave GV the MLM rights on the planet. The only reason there is so much talk is because of the fact that this company had so many reps sign up in the first month and a half. The reason there is so much heat and why it is growing so fast is because the service provider has a stellar track record and for a trained intelligent person it is a simple decision. Upside is huge down side $69.95. If you are unsure I have an email I can send you with tons of verified due diligence. Once you read and look at the facts, these postings from anonymous people will not scare you. Scam commenst are absurd out right ignorant. The companies involved are real and have serious track record. Xennsoft huge in Network Marketing very hard to get them to take you as a client. They not only are working on this but they are a strategic partner. That pretty much wipes out scam rumors on just that one fact. (check Xennsoft website) The list goes on and on. Send me an email ill send you lots of solid verified info. blisstravel @ Gmail dot com

I guess it never crossed your mind that you could find out for yourself not just sit on the sideline and shout scam scam scam. Makes me think of people who pay to join a MLM and don't lift a finger and later refer to the experience as getting burned LOL Big fat excuse full of fear.

Your comment is an outright lie. There is but one solution to your message and that is to fulfill your orders. Until then, you and the rest of your friends are simply blowing smoke up the anal orifices of each and every investor and potential investor in your company.

One other thing "Don't talk out of your a", At least the other MLM's I belong and belonged to fulfilled the orders on a timely basis. Right now, you and your other garbagemen are selling SNAKE OIL to consumers and delivering VAPORWARE! Until you deliver, you have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO SAY so don't give me or any of the other unfortunate souls who invested in your scam any lessons on why or why not we should trust you. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN YOUR WORTHLESS LIES! PROVE ME WRONG, I WILL APOLOGIZE TO YOU LIKE A MAN...but right now, prove to me you are a man and DELIVER THIS 5G PRODUCT YOU ARE PROMISING TO 50,000 PEOPLE!!!!!!!!

I appreciate the fact that you are trying to make your readers aware of scams that pop up all the time.

However, you might do your readers a favor by re-evaluating the situation as it stands today.

I just got involved with Buzzirk and Global Verge
a couple of weeks ago and read everything I could including your article.

There has been strong Compliance Policies put in place which everyone has to abide by or they will take your site down. There will be no more 5g claims by salesman. Global Verge has a new CEO and he has totally changed management and policies.

The garbage on the Internet knocking Buzzirk and Global Verge is just as bad as some of the garbage put out by over zealous distributors misleading potential buyers.

Check things out for yourself rather than believe either line of crap.

People need to get their facts straight. As recently as July 21, 2009 Mark Petschel was CEO of Global Verge. On or about June 6, 2004 Mark Petschel was arrested and indicted by a St. Louis County grand jury on three counts of securities fraud and three counts of selling unregistered securities. In 2005 Mark pleaded guilty to securites fraud. By pleading guilty he avoided prison by remains on Probation to this day. On July 22, 2009 Mark stepped down as CEO, but he was not removed from Global Verge Board of Directors nor was his ownership in company stripped. Despite announcing a launch of its unlimited wireless voice and data service on July 1st, Global Verge / Zer01 has yet to deliver either to customers. The company is in fact reversing course and has quietly removed information from its website. Those are the facts. I am in no way slamming Mark Petschel, Buzzirk, Global Verge or Zer01, nor am I supporting them - I am simply stating verifiable facts because I, as many of you who read this, have been introduced to the product and I chose to find out who created the opportunity (Mark Petschel) and look into the technology behind it.

Happy in St.Louis
You have been scammed. I live in the STL as well but, did the do diligence one must do and found out what a company really is all about. These con Artist's in particular Mark Peschel are just that. Did you bother to check any of their so called offices out. I did, None of them I repeat none of them exist, in the St.Louis area. Belleville Il is a PO Box not an office. Creve Ceour is the same and the main office in Down Town St.Louis is closing on North JeFferson. I spoke with the Owner who is owed by Mark Peschel 25,000 dollars. Mark Peschel continues to get mail there. He has been served Multiple times by Sheriffs looking for Mark Peschel. He helped Mark out only to be let down. The funny thing is, that the office was only a place for Mark to hang his hat. That's it. Never conducted any business there. The 25K was an investment by the owner of the building. Yet they still use that address along with the phony one in Las Vegas. These guys are out for one thing your money. Get out while you can

Wow...where did all the cheerleaders/Kool-Aid drinkers go???

Knock, knock? Hellllloooooooo?

If you want to catch up on what has happened and is happening,

Hm.

Two kinds of commenters I've seen. Those with a stake in this 'company' and those without. Those without sound skeptical at best, and downright scathing at worst.

Those with a stake in Zer01 sound all the same. "WAIT AND SEE", or "It's NOT a pyramid scheme!", or "I've GOT PROOF that the infrastructure is there!", "I've SEEN the unit in action!"

However absolutely none of these positive commenters ever offer anything remotely like evidence. It's always just "YOU'LL SEE!"

That's a phrase that has been resounding in pyramid marketing for decades. Only two kinds of people use it in this situation: People knowingly trying to make money off a scam and are lying, or people who have fallen for a nice brainwashing and actually (religiously?) cling to the belief that they aren't suckers who have been completely taken. I have nothing but scorn for the former, and deepest pity for the latter.

Just a brief search through the Internets should be plenty of answer for anyone actually curious about this scam. And yes, I will call it a scam until someone proves me wrong. So far, no one has. Deadline after deadline has passed, and keep passing. No working phones on this phantom network. No network. No infrastructure. Nothing. Just a lot of wild-eyed fanatics shrilly shouting out "WAIT AND SEE! WAIT AND SEE!" I half expect them to add "THE RAPTURE IS COMING!"

Do you drink Kool-Aid? May want to only use the stuff you mix up personally.

Listen people. Everyone gets fooled. It's not a crime to be taken advantage of. It IS a crime to do so knowingly. So if you are just a sucker, admit it, learn your expensive lesson and move on. But if you keep blathering on about it, trying to pump the value of the valueless, you are no longer a victim. You are a scammer. You've been told to wake up countless times. We've waited. We've seen...nothing. That's what you paid for. That's what you are waiting on. And no matter what brainwashing they fed you about "There will be many doubters! Don't lose faith!" you were suckered, and you continue to line the pockets of con-men.

If you want to believe, fine. Just stop trying to find new suckers to convince. The only one you are fooling is you.

Either way, we all WILL see very soon. Unfortunately for some, I don't think it will be the doubters with the regrets.
